Shopify Connect

Your Shopify store, run from Madata

One catalogue, one stock level, one set of books. Everything else flows on its own between your storefront and your workspace.

Connecting asks for one thing only: your store address.

Madata

How do you connect a Shopify store to your business software?

In Madata, the Shopify Connect integration asks for a single piece of information: your store address. Madata obtains authorization from Shopify, registers the order notifications and detects the currency, time zone and inventory location. From there, catalogue, prices, images and quantities flow from Madata to the storefront, and orders, customers and refunds come back into Madata with their invoice, delivery note and accounting entry.

What flows between Madata and Shopify?

Every piece of data has a single owner. That is what stops a correction made on one side from being overwritten by the other.

Madata owns this

From Madata to your storefront

  • Product records, variants and options
  • Selling prices and promotions
  • Product photos and visuals
  • Stock quantities, on every movement

  • Refunds, turned into credit notes

What a direct link changes

One stock, two channels

The shop and the online store draw on the same stock. No more online order taken on an item already sold at the counter.

The invoice follows the order

Every order lands in Madata with its customer, delivery note, invoice and accounting entry, ready to validate.

The catalogue stays owned here

Fix a price or a photo once, in Madata, and the storefront follows. No double entry, no file to re-import.

Several stores, one workspace

One store per brand, country or language: all connect to the same workspace, each with its own currency and inventory location.

An outage leaves no duplicates

Quantities are set as absolute values and every order carries its own id: replaying an interrupted sync doubles nothing.

Nothing to copy and paste

No technical key to generate, no CSV to prepare. You enter the store address, Madata handles the rest.

How long does connecting take?

Three screens. The only text you type is your store address.

  1. 1

    You enter the store address

mystore.myshopify.com, and nothing else. No key, no technical identifier.

  2. 2

    You authorize Madata on Shopify

One Shopify authorization screen, one click. Order notifications are registered right after.

  3. 3

    The first push goes out

Catalogue and stock go up to the storefront, orders start coming down. You watch the progress live.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app from the Shopify App Store?

No. Shopify Connect is enabled from your Madata workspace and links to your store through a direct authorization link. There is nothing to look for in the Shopify App Store.

Who owns the catalogue and the prices?

Madata does. Product records, prices, images and quantities flow from your workspace to the storefront. Shopify owns what is born there: orders, customers and refunds.

What happens when a customer orders online?

The order comes down into Madata as a sales order, with its customer record, delivery note and invoice. Stock is decremented once, whichever channel the sale came from.

Can several Shopify stores be connected?

Yes. A single Madata workspace drives as many stores as needed, each with its own currency, time zone and inventory location.

What if the sync is interrupted?

It restarts with no side effects. Stock quantities are set as absolute values rather than deltas, and every order carries a unique id: replaying a push creates no duplicate and doubles no correction.

Does it work with the register and the shop?

That is its starting point. The online store, the shop and the register share one and the same stock, held in Madata.

Is the module billed on top?

No. Shopify Connect is included from the Entrepreneur pack onwards: you enable it from the marketplace in your workspace, with no subscription supplement and no commission on orders.

Your storefront and your books, finally in agreement

An online order becomes an invoice, a delivery note and a stock movement. Without anyone retyping a thing.
